About

Cynthia thought of the idea out of a need that resulted in living in an RV while their house was being built on their five acres. She needed a place to hang laundry and other items in the small space. She looked at the common hook and thought, wouldn’t it be nice to pull the main hook out when you need it to hang multiple items and put it back when you don’t, all the while looking decorative?

The Beginning

Since they had a career in the Kitchen Remodel business where Cynthia was the designer and Ray was the Contractor, working together was second nature to them. Ray took the opportunity to build the idea out of common brass fittings from the local hardware store.

The result was a true prototype; it was so good that the Patent Attorney based the patent on it. As surprised as Ray was that his weekend project could result at the beginning of something revolutionary, Cynthia knew he nailed it. So, they started the journey of both heartache and excitement.

The Results

The journey cost them financially at a difficult time, but they kept moving forward. They built 250 prototypes to ensure proof of concept. At the time, the machine shop that built the prototypes said it was the best invention they had ever seen. The response to the concept was great, but it was too expensive to manufacture.

Fast-forward to now, keeping in mind that this all started in 2014. They have a patent, partnered with a manufacturing company, and are ready to launch it.

A Revolutionary Product

Cynthia believes this new hook will one day replace every common hook out there because it is both decorative and functional! It will be in every room in every hotel as well as RVs. The Extend-a-Hook will also be in every laundry room, bathroom, and bedroom closet!

It is not a matter of where you can use this hook or where you can’t use it! Ray’s favorite slogan is a closet-in-a-box!
